25th November, Kolkata: Just a year after enthralling the audience with ‘Har Har Byomkesh’, Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films are back once again with a revamped Byomkesh Bakshi – Arindam Sil directed ‘ Byomkesh Pawrbo’.
The theatrical trailer of the second installment of the Byomkesh Bakshi series – ‘ Byomkesh Pawrbo’ was launched by the cast and crew of the film at the J.W Marriott Hotel at 12 noon on 18th November - Friday. This rebooted franchise will see an eclectic cast - Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar, Ritwick Chakraborty, Rajatavo Dutta, June Malia, Sayantika Banerjee, Kaushik Sen, Sumonto Mukherjee and others. Releasing on 16th December, this Christmas release promises to enthrall the audience with a more gripping narrative and some unabated action.
Based on Sharadindu Bandhopadhyay’s classic series, the quintessential cerebral Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi will be revealing his daring side as he pulls off some daredevil stunts for very the first time. ‘ Byomkesh Pawrbo’ begins immediately after the independence, where the undaunted seeker of truth will make his way through the dark jungles of Dooars solving the engima of a ghostrider and ensuing murders in North Bengal.
Declaring his unending admiration for the Byomkesh series, director Arindam Sil explained why going back to this particular series is immensely important to him. “ I can keep re-inventing Byomkesh for multiple times and in multiple ways. Byomkesh Bakshi is one character in Bengali literature whose colossal depth lies in the multiple layers of his persona. Though he is a deep thinker, a ‘satyanweshi’ yet his unflinching courage , righteous nature and dauntless spirit keep him apart from the rest. In ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ , audience can actually get to see a rare side of Byomkesh’s persona. A sleuth who always goes beyond his limits to divulge the truth and never refrains to strike back when situation requires.” stated Arindam Sil.

Recently, the cast and crew of upcoming Bengali film Tuski took part in a rally to support educational rights for under-privileged children. Director of the film Aniket Chattyapadhya and lead actress Kanchana Moitra were spotted taking lead positions at the rally. The rally was also joined by actor turned MP Satabdi Roy and MP Mriganko Roy. Actor Arijit dutta was also present at the do.
